UPDATES OF IEC62321 TEST STANDARD

       

IEC 62321 provided test methods  of certain substances  in electronic and electrical products.The first edition of IEC 62321: 2008 was a single ‘stand-alone’ standard that includes an introduction,an overview of test methods,a mechanical sample preparation as well as various test method. May 17,2013IEC  62321: 2008 is split into a series of standards,while introducing new testing methods or apparatus, details below.

Hexavalent chromium - Determination of hexavalent chromium (Cr(VI)) in polymers and electronics by the colorimetric method

Main changes:Employs organic solvent to dissolve or swell the sample matrix, followed by an alkaline digestion procedure to extract Cr(VI) from samples.

● IEC 62321-8

Phthalates in polymers by gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS), gas chromatography-mass spectrometry using a pyrolyzer/thermal desorption accessory (Py/TD-GC-MS)
